In early 2016, as part of an ongoing effort to revitalize downtown, city leaders in Fresno, California broke ground on construction to revert the Fulton Mall back to a two-way street. The six-block corridor was originally converted in the 1960s, and has been known as one of America’s last-remaining pedestrian malls. Images in this collection come from a larger, ongoing project documenting the area’s transition.
